When sorting by date, the value is determined by your [project configuration][], defaulting to the `date` field in front matter.

```go-html-template
{{ range .Pages.ByDate }}
  <h2><a href="{{ .RelPermalink }}">{{ .LinkTitle }}</a></h2>
{{ end }}
```

To sort in descending order:

```go-html-template
{{ range .Pages.ByDate.Reverse }}
  <h2><a href="{{ .RelPermalink }}">{{ .LinkTitle }}</a></h2>
{{ end }}
